Monorail lighting uses low-voltage power with a single circuit and two conductors. Monorail is customizable to fit any style and lighting applications. Low voltage track lighting is needed for accent and task lighting with its halogen and xenon bulbs.

There are three types of fixtures that can be attached to monorail – QP Pendants, QF heads, and basic monorail fixtures. If you are using QF heads and QP Pendants, you will need a quick connect adapter. But, the basic monorail fixtures can be attached directly to the track.

Generally, glass and metal shapes are the common materials used for monorail fixtures. The shades come in different variations. Almost all fixtures are supplied with 12 voltage bulbs. If the transformer used has 24Voltage, it is important to use 24V bulb. You can also choose to use low wattage, if the bulb is too bright; by using low voltage track lighting.
